1 year old!

Wow, a whole year! We can't believe it has been that long, but at the same time it seems like Dylan has been part of our life forever:) To celebrate Dylan's birthday we (Kelley and Grandma Colleen) took Dylan to the zoo in Portland. Dylan had a lot of fun and enjoyed looking at all the different animals, especially the goats. She also went on a train ride where she mostly enjoyed trying to pull the hair of the woman sitting in front of us. Overall, it was a really fun day and mommy even let Dylan try a bite of ice cream!

In other Dylan news... she is really becoming a little person! She has started to use a few simple signs such as "milk" and "more." We are working on adding more to her vocabulary. She also loves to clap her hands and wave to people. Dylan really likes to throw toys over her baby gate and try to fit toys into different containers or toys (what can I fit into the ball ramp??) It is a lot of fun to see the wheels in her head turning. Dylan is eating a lot of solids now and has gotten over her distaste of fresh fruit, which is nice! We also took Dylan on her first bike ride in her bike trailer (thanks Irene!!) Happy birthday Dylan!

I know its been too long huh?

So our camera just stopped working so we haven't been able to put anything on our computer. That is the second Cannon to stop working so we have moved on. I did not care for their ads with that tennis player that looks like phil collins anyway.
So Dylan is crawling everywhere and getting into everything in the house. She really likes to throw the VHS tapes all over the floor. She also really enjoys anything she is not supposed to have namely cell phones and remotes. They don' t name tornadoes but Dylan would be a good name for one because our house looks like one of those trailer parks in arkansas in the afternoon.
She has sat on the potty a few times now and has even tinkled a little while on it. One time she pooped on it but she had already started and was transplanted to her potty so it doesn't really count.
We are very close to having a one year old and fear her advancing mobility a great deal. We will try to update more often now that we have a camera that works. Oh and her birthday party is fast approaching so invitations will be out soon. It is on the 25th of April at Lamb's cottage (the little house at skinner's butte park) from 1-3pm. We don't want gifts for Dylan and instead would like people to bring things that can be donated to shelter care. We called them and they would like things like, art supplies, computer games for kids, play kitchen food, and building blocks.

Dylan and Dolores
Playing with Jackson
Clint and his cousins Alex and Sydney

Dylan Claire is now 9 months old! She is crawling around like crazy, terrorizing our cats and everything she can get her hands on. Dylan loves to throw tupperware, rip paper, pull out all the DVDs, and get into anything we will let her. She is now pulling up on the furniture as well. She is now eating 3x a day and loves bananas, cream of wheat, puffs, dried apples, and pretty much anything we give her. She is still getting used to plain yogurt but likes it if we mix it with fruit. We are working on having her self feed but she mostly just grips the food in her hand and won't let go.

Recently she has been pooping in the bathtub and even pooped in the potty once! (Although she did start it in the bath and we moved her to the potty). She also got into her diaper one morning and pulled some poop out which she smeared all over herself and the crib. Fun stories to share with her when she is a teenager!

Dylan's first x-mas

We had a very interesting holiday to say the least. Mostly it was the traveling from place to place that was interesting and by interesting I mean terrible. First we had the pleasure of driving to Portland to pick up uncle Jordon on their first day of snow. It took us 7 hours to get up there and back. Then on to Roseburg to see Great G-ma Dorris. While there we found out G-ma and G-pa were unable to fly back to Portland from Mexico and were instead driving up from hell aka L.A. We decided to brave the gorge together with them so we packed up our stuff and headed to Hood River. We made it to Salem just fine but then it took us 4 hours to get to Portland. Anyway, we made it to Hood River to see they had massive amounts of snow and it was still piling up. A little trip to The Dalles to see the family and that wraps up the foul weather driving. As for the actual Holiday, we ate some food and opened some presents. I guess the moral of the story is carry chains or traction tires. Happy New Year everyone from all of us.

7 months old

Dylan had a great 1st Thanksgiving! She ate some sweet potato while everyone else enjoyed all the usual fare. She really enjoyed being able to spend time with Grandma Wendy, Grandpa Tim, and Great Grandma Doris. It was a fun, relaxing day.

Dylan's personality is really starting to emerge. She just started to get mad if you take something from her or won't give her what she wants. Dylan has also started to really move around the house although she still can't quite crawl. She has mastered the backwards scoot though!

Dylan also started swimming classes this week and so far she really love being in the water and splashing with mommy and daddy. We will post some swimming pictures soon.

Dylan's first presidential election

Dylan is so happy that Obama will be the first president of her lifetime (let's all just forget that few months with Bush...) In other news...

Dylan is becoming more and more fun everyday. She is still having problems sleeping for long periods of time, but we are slowly weening her from needing us to help her get back to sleep. She has now eaten sweet potatoes (her favorite!), carrots, peas, avocado (not a fan), and banana. We have started to feed her 2 times a day and she seems to enjoy it. Dylan can sit up all by herself now, although she sometimes will still tip over. :) Dylan went for a visit with Aunt Stacey this weekend in Portland and also got to see Erin, Jane, and her grandparents! She also went to see the exhibit on photographs of the Gorge at the museum where Dylan enjoyed squealing and hearing the acoustics of the building.

Dylan Claire is 6 months old!

Well there are a few days still. She has started eating solid food such as rice cereal and carrots. She has also learned to wave and hold her bottle up by herself. Dylan is really in to pulling hair, reading, and playing in her excersaucer right now. She still hasn't figured out how to sleep through the night yet which is making Mom and Dad a little delirious. As we speak I am too tired to write anymore so enjoy the pictures.
