Update

Well we have had a busy last month! We went to Yachats for a week with friends. Dylan took her first trip to the aquarium and also tasted sand! Dylan loved playing with Mia, Jon and Jenny's 4 year old daughter. We also took a trip to Arcata to meet Dylan's other grandpa and Justin. It was a very short trip and we hope to make a longer trip in the next year.

Dylan now enjoys playing with toys, which mostly means that she will hold them and look at them and shake them. She is a lot more aware of her surroundings as well. She is growing rapidly and weighed 15 lbs at her 4 month check up! She was in the 77% for weight but only in the 33% for height! She likes to eat her toes at any given chance, mostly when you are trying to change her diaper. Dylan is still a wonderfully easy baby although she likes to eat all night long which mommy does not appreciate! We are planning to start her on solids at 6 months, which is next month!

We went last week and got professional pictures taken. Dylan didn't want to cooperate but we did get a few smiles out of her! Dylan has started to talk a lot, cooing and smiling! She also discovered her hands and likes to clasp them together and put them in her mouth. She even sucked her thumb for the first time last night. Dylan has had a clogged tear duct for about 2 weeks now, so we are washing it with warm water and massaging it, which she doesn't like! Hopefully it will go away soon!

Home again

Well we are home from a busy week in Colorado. We went on a very steep hike with Dylan strapped into her baby biorn, played disc golf in Vale, attended a Rockies game, swam in a pool, and relaxed in general. None of us ever want to drive again! Dylan's binkie was my best friend on the trip, along with a hand held breast pump. Our baby was a trooper and barely fussed at all! In other news, Dylan rolled over for her first time. It was very exciting and we have been giving her more tummy time to practice her mad skills.

We made it!

We got into Edwards, CO last night at 11:00 and Dylan was awesome. She slept a lot of the way and when she was awake she was fine for the most part. The Dalles through most of Utah was awful as there is very little to see but once we got close to Colorado I felt a little more at home. We are very excited to get out and see the area over the week. I will try to write another update at some point this week.

Getting ready for a road trip.

We are a couple of days away from heading to Colorado with little Dylan. So far her longest trip is 3 hours to g and g's house so 17 hours might be pushing it. We are going to visit our friend Codi for the week and plan on doing some hiking and maybe some light camping. We will be sure to take plenty of pictures to put up on the blog. Wish us luck!

Dylan has been doing great since I went back to work 3 weeks ago (3Weeks!!!). The first week she was mad and looked at me with untrusting eyes when i returned home each night. Now she is a happy baby who still loves her boob but will take a bottle fine. Being back at work has been a little rough. I am only working 30 hours a week which is really nice although I miss her a lot while I am at work and am usually exhausted by the time I get home. I am trying to not work the 9-6 shift again because I would never see Dylan but my assistant teacher doesn't want to work that shift exclusively which makes things difficult. I might end up looking for a new job if I have to work that shift since Dylan is now my top priority. Hopefully it doesn't come to that since I love my job.

In other news... I forgot to add on my blog about Patrick's graduation all the new people Dylan was able to meet! Arlene, my boss when I worked at Munchies, was able to meet Dylan. Dylan can't wait to be old enough to eat Munchies' delicious nachos and milkshakes:)! Dylan also made a new baby friend-Jackson, who is Lacey's son.

Doctor visit

Dylan had her 2 month check up which included shots. Again the medieval doctors made my little girl cry but this time she turned super red and made some huge tears. I felt bad for the nurse who gets to make babies cry for a living, the only profession I can think of that is worse than that is a lawyer. Anywho, she now weighs in at 12 lbs 8oz and is a couple of inches taller. The funny thing is though that she is in the 70th percentile for weight but in the 40's for height and 39th for head size. I guess we have a short, small headed, chunky baby but she is an insanely cute short, small headed, chunky baby.
