We made it!

We got into Edwards, CO last night at 11:00 and Dylan was awesome. She slept a lot of the way and when she was awake she was fine for the most part. The Dalles through most of Utah was awful as there is very little to see but once we got close to Colorado I felt a little more at home. We are very excited to get out and see the area over the week. I will try to write another update at some point this week.

Getting ready for a road trip.

We are a couple of days away from heading to Colorado with little Dylan. So far her longest trip is 3 hours to g and g's house so 17 hours might be pushing it. We are going to visit our friend Codi for the week and plan on doing some hiking and maybe some light camping. We will be sure to take plenty of pictures to put up on the blog. Wish us luck!

Dylan has been doing great since I went back to work 3 weeks ago (3Weeks!!!). The first week she was mad and looked at me with untrusting eyes when i returned home each night. Now she is a happy baby who still loves her boob but will take a bottle fine. Being back at work has been a little rough. I am only working 30 hours a week which is really nice although I miss her a lot while I am at work and am usually exhausted by the time I get home. I am trying to not work the 9-6 shift again because I would never see Dylan but my assistant teacher doesn't want to work that shift exclusively which makes things difficult. I might end up looking for a new job if I have to work that shift since Dylan is now my top priority. Hopefully it doesn't come to that since I love my job.

In other news... I forgot to add on my blog about Patrick's graduation all the new people Dylan was able to meet! Arlene, my boss when I worked at Munchies, was able to meet Dylan. Dylan can't wait to be old enough to eat Munchies' delicious nachos and milkshakes:)! Dylan also made a new baby friend-Jackson, who is Lacey's son.

Doctor visit

Dylan had her 2 month check up which included shots. Again the medieval doctors made my little girl cry but this time she turned super red and made some huge tears. I felt bad for the nurse who gets to make babies cry for a living, the only profession I can think of that is worse than that is a lawyer. Anywho, she now weighs in at 12 lbs 8oz and is a couple of inches taller. The funny thing is though that she is in the 70th percentile for weight but in the 40's for height and 39th for head size. I guess we have a short, small headed, chunky baby but she is an insanely cute short, small headed, chunky baby.

Dylan's first home visit

Dylan went on her first home visit yesterday and she did amazingly well. She pretty much just sat there while dad tried to deflect toddler poking fingers from her head. While on the visit and on the drive home afterwards I realized what a valuable asset Dylan is when it comes to home visiting. I was thinking about the years laid out before us and how great it will be to have Dylan to share with my families. Oh and Dylan now weighs in at 12+ pounds.

Uncle Patrick's Graduation

An extra note on last weekend....Dylan ripped some awesome farts during her Uncle's graduation including one during the speakers long winded oration. Also, it is very hard to pee holding a baby and even harder to zip up after. I would also like to note that green day's time of your life has played at every graduation since 1997. I would like to challenge the youth out there to come up with a new song to play during your graduation as it is getting old. Congrats though uncle Patrick on your graduation and more importantly being voted best dancer!

7 Weeks old

Hi everyone! As of last tuesday Dylan now weighs 10lbs 10 oz. She has been gaining about 1/2 lb per week. Dylan is now smiling and cooing all the time. She also is now a fan of her sling- now we just need to work on the Baby Biorn. We have been staying busy, with recent visits to Hood River and Glide. Dylan got to meet her great-grandparents and great-aunts and uncles in Hood River and watched Uncle Patrick's high school graduation in Glide. I have to return to work next week for 30 hours a week and I am not ready to leave my little girl. We feel very lucky to have my mom come and stay with us for the summer so that we have someone we trust watching and caring for Dylan.
